Grandma Gets the Medicine

In Room 5, we pretended to be Roald Dahl for half an hour today.  The kids re-wrote the part when Grandma gets her medicine from George in Georges' Marvellous Medicine.

Here's Marieve's lovely use of similes      and          Connor's clever use of speech.

 Here's the class in a freeze frame, pretending to be grandma, "shooting up like a jack-in-the-box...suspended 2 feet in the air in the sitting position."

Today we had a visitor - Jane the Artist.

She came and showed up step by step how to produce a 'refined' piece of Art using pencil, black marker and crayon.

Here's Che's from start to finish.

School Poetry Hunt

This week Room 5 have been outside the classroom writing poetry.  

They have been getting help from buddies to record their ideas and 

getting inspiration from their local surroundings.

They searched the school and wrote down what they could see and hear and touch using 

describing words, sounds words, feelings, similes etc...

The Buddies then helped us to publish on the laptops and iPads.

AMAZING CARE AND COOPERATION!

So much fun and quality learning.
