As part of our 'Life According to Me' unit, Room 7 have talked, watched, read and written about Captain James Cook and his famous boat - the Endeavour.
Ask you child what they can remember about Captain Cook and his ship.
This clip might help.

Room 7 Hosts the first Year 3 / 4 Assembly
After being thrown in the deep in by Mr Ray, Room 7 have created what should be an outstanding whole class performance in front of their other Year 3/4 peers at tomorrow's syndicate get together.
They were set the task of learning 'A haka ma', coming up with actions, practicing and perfecting in one week!
Matthew led strongly and ordered the boys around, giving them numbers, showing them the moves and expecting high standards.
The girls pretty much all had different ideas and did very well not to hurt too many feelings in attempting to get their way. When they all got on board with the same ideas, they did extremely well and look magnificent - moving as one. Well done girls!
Good luck to Jake and Florence who are going to introduce, lead and run the order of events at the assembly.

The Treaty of Room 7
To set ourselves up for a successful year, Room 7 have spent some time this week forming an agreement between all people in the room. We figured that we would all be spending a lot of time together this year ( 5 hours a day, 200 days this year - 1000 hours!!!)
We began by sharing what we wanted the classroom to be like.
Then we looked at the values that keep Muritai School a great place to be.
Finally we loosely related our agreement to the Treat of Waitangi being so close to Waitangi Day and all!
